Women’s professional soccer is coming to Chattanooga under the USL Super League and the ownership of international real estate developer Robert “Bob” Martino. Like the likes of the MLS, NWSL, NBA, MFL, MLB and NHL, the USL Super League is a first-tier professional league. It will be sanctioned by the U.S. Soccer Federation.
THE SCHEDULE
The league is set to kick off in August 2024, and we will begin play in Chattanooga in 2025. The USL Super League will provide the highest level of play for professional women’s soccer in America.
THE USL SUPER LEAGUE
We will play on an international calendar of fall to summer and provide a connected women’s pathway from youth to professional. The youth-to-pro pathway creates development and advancement opportunities for players, coaches, referees, and front-office employees while uniting our community and growing the sport at all levels across the U.S.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The USL Super League helps address the opportunity gap between men’s and women’s professional soccer in the U.S., home of the world’s most successful women’s national team. Currently, there are 101 professional men’s soccer teams and 12 professional women’s soccer teams. The Super League will double the number of women’s pro teams in the U.S.

The USL Super League Chattanooga team joins the established men’s professional soccer club Chattanooga Red Wolves SC as well as the pre-professional teams: Lady Red Wolves, Dalton Red Wolves and Salt Lake Red Wolves.

What Level is the Super League?

When does the USL Super League kick off?
The USL Super League’s inaugural season will kick off in August and run to June, becoming the first and only U.S.-based professional soccer league competing on the traditional international soccer calendar. The “fall-to-summer” calendar prioritizes the fan experience, on-field competition and commercial opportunities.
When will the Chattanooga franchise begin play?
The current target is for Chattanooga to join the Super League in 2025.

The USL Super League’s intent to launch as a first division league reflects a commitment to operating at the highest possible standards for women’s soccer in America and a collective vision to be a global leader in women’s soccer on and off the field. The USL Super League will follow U.S. Soccer’s sanctioning process.

The USL Super League will be the only American soccer league aligned with the global game’s traditional club calendar, running from August to June. This calendar prioritizes the fan experience, on-field competition, and commercial opportunities, ensuring players are easily able to represent both club and country and facilitating USL Super League clubs’ participation in the emerging global women’s transfer market.
